Step 1 of 5 · Receive

Receive this day’s Word

Titus 2:11–14

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age; looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.

Step 2 of 5 · Declare

Grace Is Forming the Way I Live

Read this slowly. Let each sentence remain anchored to today’s Scripture.

I do not obey to earn God’s grace. Because grace has met me in Christ, I will let it teach me to leave what harms and practice what is good.

Step 3 of 5 · Meditate

Grace Teaches Us How to Live

Titus describes grace not only as rescue but as a teacher. The grace revealed in Christ forms a people who learn to say no to destructive desires and yes to a godly life.

Grace is sometimes described only as what God gives after we fail. Titus 2 gives a wider picture: grace appears in salvation, and grace also teaches.

Paul says God’s grace trains believers to reject ungodliness and disordered desires and to live with self-control, righteousness, and devotion in the present age. The passage roots that formation in Jesus, who gave himself to redeem and purify a people eager for good works.

That means obedience is neither a way of earning grace nor something grace makes irrelevant. Grace changes the relationship to obedience. We respond because we have been received, rescued, and claimed—not because good behavior purchases God’s love.

Growth often involves both a “no” and a “yes.” Something harmful may need to be refused, and something good may need to be practiced in its place.

What is grace teaching you to leave behind? What kind of person is it teaching you to become? Keep the focus on Christ’s work first, then let gratitude become a new way of living.

Step 4 of 5 · Pray

Pray in response

Jesus, thank you for the grace that saves and forms your people. Keep me from trying to earn what you give freely. Show me what needs to be left behind and what good practice should take its place. Let gratitude become obedience that is honest, steady, and rooted in you. Amen.

Step 5 of 5 · Reflect

Reflect with honesty

  1. What does Titus say grace teaches believers to reject?

  2. What does it teach them to practice?

  3. What is one “no” and one “yes” that fits your life right now?
