Accessibility is treated as a product requirement, especially in the Bible reader where long-form text, comparison controls, verse selection, and narrow mobile layouts must remain understandable.
Current foundations
- Semantic landmarks, heading order, skip navigation, and meaningful link text.
- Visible focus styles and keyboard-operable navigation, selectors, forms, and disclosure controls.
- Dawn, Midnight, and system appearance preferences with readable contrast.
- Reduced-motion support and no animated Scripture while reading.
- Adjustable Scripture text sizing and an alternative to narrow two-column comparison for large text.
- Status text for empty, unavailable, restricted, invalid, rate-limited, and successful states.
Known product boundaries
The site is an active MVP and will continue to be tested across narrow mobile, tablet, desktop, keyboard, and screen-reader scenarios. A route that is feature-gated should explain the missing backend or content state rather than expose an inert control.
