Step 1 of 5 · Receive

Receive this day’s Word

Psalm 25:4–5

Show me your ways, LORD. Teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth, and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation. I wait for you all day long.

Step 2 of 5 · Declare

I Begin With a Teachable Heart

Read this slowly. Let each sentence remain anchored to today’s Scripture.

I will make plans with humility. I ask God to teach me his ways, guide me in truth, and correct me when my own desires cloud my judgment.

Step 3 of 5 · Meditate

Begin the Month Teachable

Psalm 25 begins guidance with teachability. David asks God to show, teach, and guide him, then places himself in a posture of waiting.

A new month can make us eager to plan quickly. We set goals, imagine outcomes, and decide what must happen next. Psalm 25 begins in another place: “Show me,” “teach me,” and “guide me.”

David’s prayer is not passive. He wants to walk in God’s ways, but he starts by admitting that he needs to be taught. Guidance is connected to truth and humility, not merely to getting the answer we prefer.

That posture matters whenever we begin something new. Plans can be useful, but they become dangerous when we cannot be corrected. A teachable person can make a plan and still revise it. A teachable person can listen to Scripture, receive wise counsel, and admit when motives need attention.

Before you decide what this month must become, ask what God may need to teach you within it.

Choose one intention for the month, but hold it with open hands. Ask for truth, not just confirmation. Let prayer shape the plan before the plan starts shaping your peace.

Step 4 of 5 · Pray

Pray in response

Lord, as this month begins, teach me your ways and guide me in truth. Give me humility in my plans and patience when I do not know the whole path. Correct what needs changing, strengthen what is faithful, and help me listen before I rush ahead. Amen.

Step 5 of 5 · Reflect

Reflect with honesty

  1. What are you hoping this month will hold?

  2. Where might you be seeking confirmation more than truth?

  3. What is one question you can keep open before God?
