Psalm 121 is a Song of Ascents, part of a collection associated with worshipers traveling toward Jerusalem. The opening lines do not deny that a journey can feel exposed or uncertain. They ask where dependable help can be found and answer by naming the LORD as Maker of heaven and earth.
That answer shifts attention from the size of the journey to the character of God. Trust is not pretending that we know what will happen next. It is refusing to make fear, resources, or self-reliance our final foundation.
Today, notice where your mind automatically looks for security. Planning and asking for help are wise, but they were never meant to carry the weight of ultimate trust. Bring the road ahead to God and take the next responsible step with your dependence anchored in him.

LORD, you know the road in front of me and the places where I feel unsure. Keep me from putting all my confidence in my own strength. Give me wisdom to plan, humility to receive help, and courage for the next faithful step. Let my deepest trust rest in you, the Maker of heaven and earth. Amen.
