Step 1 of 5 · Receive
Receive this day’s Word
Colossians 3:15–17
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.
Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

I Will Let Christ’s Peace Rule
Read this slowly. Let each sentence remain anchored to today’s Scripture.
I will let Christ’s peace guide my responses and let his word shape my thinking. I choose specific gratitude without denying what is difficult.

Peace and gratitude are often treated as private feelings. In Colossians 3, they become practices that shape a community.
Paul tells believers to let the peace of Christ rule in their hearts because they were called into one body. The image of “rule” suggests guidance or decision. When tension arises, Christ’s peace should have a voice in how people respond.
This is not peace at any price. The same chapter calls for truth, forgiveness, love, and transformed behavior. Biblical peace does not hide harm or silence necessary conversations. It seeks reconciliation without abandoning honesty.
Paul also says to let the word of Christ dwell richly among them. Peace is not built only by avoiding conflict. It is formed as truth inhabits the community through teaching, wisdom, worship, and mutual care.
Then gratitude appears repeatedly. Gratitude does not deny what is painful. It notices grace without pretending that everything is easy. It can interrupt entitlement, comparison, and the belief that only large outcomes matter.
Today, consider one decision or conversation. What response would allow Christ’s peace—not fear, pride, or the desire to win—to guide you?
Then name three specific gifts from the present day. They do not need to be dramatic. A meal, a person, a lesson, strength for one task, or a moment of beauty can become an act of worship.
Peace and gratitude do not remove every difficulty. They help us meet difficulty under the word and character of Christ.
Step 4 of 5 · Pray
Pray in response
God, let the peace of Christ guide me today.
Where conflict or pressure is shaping my reactions, slow me down and lead me toward truth, wisdom, and reconciliation.
Let your word live deeply in me rather than remaining a passing thought.
Open my eyes to gifts I have overlooked. Teach me gratitude that is honest, specific, and generous.
May my words and actions reflect Christ.
Amen.
