Step 2 of 5 · Declare
I Return My Mind to God
Read this slowly. Let each sentence remain anchored to today’s Scripture.
When my thoughts scatter, I will return my attention to God, the everlasting Rock. I can name what is uncertain and still rest in what is true about his character.
Step 3 of 5 · Meditate
A Mind Stayed on God
Isaiah connects steadfast peace with a mind that remains anchored in God and trusts the everlasting Rock.

A mind under pressure can move rapidly from one possibility to another. We imagine conversations, outcomes, and dangers before they happen.
Isaiah 26 is a song of trust. It describes God as an everlasting Rock and speaks of peace for the person whose mind is stayed on him.
This does not mean that faithful people never experience anxious thoughts or emotional distress. The larger book of Isaiah contains judgment, grief, waiting, and hope. Peace is not presented as denial. It is stability rooted in God’s character.
To keep the mind stayed on God is to return attention to what is true about him: he is faithful, just, present, and worthy of trust. This return may happen many times in one day.
We can practice it through prayer, Scripture, worship, breathing slowly, limiting unhelpful input, and speaking honestly with someone trustworthy. For some people, professional mental health support is also an important part of wise care.
Peace is not earned by concentrating perfectly. It is received as we repeatedly entrust ourselves to the everlasting Rock.
Notice where your mind goes when it is unguarded. What story does fear keep telling? Bring that story into the light. Name what is known, what is uncertain, and what remains true about God.
Then choose one sentence from Scripture to return to during the day. The goal is not to suppress every thought. It is to give your attention a trustworthy home.
Step 4 of 5 · Pray
Pray in response
Everlasting God, my thoughts feel scattered.
Help me distinguish facts from fearful predictions. Bring my attention back to your faithful character.
Give me peace that does not require denial and wisdom to use the support available to me.
When my mind wanders into repeated fear, teach me to return without shame.
Be my steady place today.
Amen.
Step 5 of 5 · Reflect
Reflect with honesty
What fearful story has your mind been repeating?
Which parts are known facts, and which are imagined outcomes?
What truth about God can become the place you intentionally return to today?
