Job 34 Bible text

1WEB

Moreover Elihu answered,

2WEB

“Hear my words, you wise men.

3WEB

For the ear tries words,

4WEB

Let us choose for us that which is right.

5WEB

For Job has said, ‘I am righteous,

6WEB

Notwithstanding my right I am considered a liar.

7WEB

What man is like Job,

8WEB

who goes in company with the workers of iniquity,

9WEB

For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing

10WEB

“Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding:

11WEB

For the work of a man he will render to him,

12WEB

Yes surely, God will not do wickedly,

13WEB

Who put him in charge of the earth?

14WEB

If he set his heart on himself,

15WEB

all flesh would perish together,

16WEB

“If now you have understanding, hear this.

17WEB

Should even one who hates justice govern?

18WEB

who says to a king, ‘Vile!’

19WEB

He doesn’t respect the persons of princes,

20WEB

In a moment they die, even at midnight.

21WEB

“For his eyes are on the ways of a man.

22WEB

There is no darkness, nor thick gloom,

23WEB

For he doesn’t need to consider a man further,

24WEB

He breaks mighty men in pieces in ways past finding out,

25WEB

Therefore he takes knowledge of their works.

26WEB

He strikes them as wicked men

27WEB

because they turned away from following him,

28WEB

so that they caused the cry of the poor to come to him.

29WEB

When he gives quietness, who then can condemn?

30WEB

that the godless man may not reign,

31WEB

“For has any said to God,

32WEB

Teach me that which I don’t see.

33WEB

Shall his recompense be as you desire, that you refuse it?

34WEB

Men of understanding will tell me,

35WEB

‘Job speaks without knowledge.

36WEB

I wish that Job were tried to the end,

37WEB

For he adds rebellion to his sin.
